The Story Behind Vintage Up Finds
About 12 years ago, a coworker mentioned that people were making good money buying items at yard sales and estate auctions and reselling them online. He told me his wife was earning more than $60,000 a year as a reseller. At the time, my family needed another source of income.Our savings were shrinking. We were even facing the possibility that my wife, a stay-at-home mom raising our kids, would have to go back to work.
Sourcing Unique Treasures at Vintage Up Finds
That short conversation sparked my curiosity. I decided to give it a try, visiting yard sales, estate sales, thrift stores, flea markets, and auctions whenever I could. I quickly discovered that the thrill wasn’t just in making a profit—it was in the hunt itself. Every weekend became an opportunity to uncover something unique that someone else had overlooked.
Thankfully, what began as a way to earn extra income grew into something much bigger. The additional income from reselling helped keep our family on track, and my wife was able to continue being a stay-at-home mom. For that, I’ll always be grateful.
Today, I’m still chasing that same excitement every time I walk into an estate sale or auction. I’m always searching for hidden gems that deserve a second life and a new home with someone who will appreciate them.
Every item I find has a story.
